sMILE, aims to address the critical issue of road accidents and promote bike safety. In developing nations like India, it is essential to ensure the protection of bike riders.
sMILE offers an innovative solution by incorporating advanced technologies and state-of-the-art notifications to keep riders safe on the road. The project powers itself using hardware components like evive and Arduino. It utilizes PictoBlox extensions, including QR Code Scanner, IFTTT Webhooks, Text to Speech, Image Classifier (ML), and Actuators and Sensors, for coding purposes. The implementation begins with the scanning of a QR code that contains the rider’s identity, ensuring a personalized experience.
sMILE includes various features to enhance bike safety. Helmet identification is achieved using image recognition. Alcohol identification is another crucial aspect, utilizing an alcohol sensor in the helmet module to monitor alcohol levels. If the alcohol level exceeds the permissible limit, the bike will not start, and the rider’s family will be notified of their location.
In case of a minor accident, the family will receive a message notifying them, while in the event of a major accident, the police and ambulance will be immediately notified with the precise location. By combining cutting-edge technologies, sMILE aims to achieve zero casualties from road accidents. It not only safeguards the lives of bike riders but also contributes to the overall improvement of road safety.
