Taniya Singh and Umang Sharma from India created the Landslide Detection Device to prevent damage from natural disasters using PictoBlox. The project uses PictoBlox’s Actuators, which include evive and Arduino, as well as Sensors, such as Evive and Arduino. They also implemented Dabble and Arduino – Uno, Nano & Mega. This innovative project won them the Codeavour Award. When the water level of the soil rises, the detection device can quickly inform people and alert them about the risk of landslides. The device also tracks the current location of the user in case of an emergency. The project is based on the easy-to-use and powerful block based graphical programming editor of PictoBlox and can be downloaded here.
