JEEVAN is an innovative emergency alert system designed for elderly individuals. It aims to provide timely support to seniors and improve their safety and well-being. Developed by the team at Future Duties, this project has won the Project Courev 2021 prize.
According to the census of 2011, 10.4 million elderly people live in India, where 1.6-2 million deaths occur per day. More than 5.7% of the elderly population in India live alone, often with medical issues like high blood pressure or requiring medication.
JEEVAN is a device designed to alleviate this risk. Connected to a microcontroller and pulse light sensor, it detects changes in pulse rate. In the event that the pulse increases by 500, an alert is sent to the control room of the hospital and the family members. This alert includes the location, latitude, and longitude, which allows for immediate assistance.
