Driver safety and preventing accidents are now achievable with the AlertGuard Driver Alert System. The project utilizes advanced face detection technology and driver alertness analysis to actively monitor drivers for signs of drowsiness, distraction, and other risky behaviors. In the event of potentially hazardous behavior, real-time alerts are provided, allowing drivers to remain focused on driving and potentially preventing life-threatening accidents.
In the process of face detection, the system incorporates face landmark detection. The system actively monitors six different driver behaviors to analyze driver alertness. These behaviors include drowsiness, distraction, lack of sleep, multi tasking, phone usage, and wrong posture. Each type of behavior that is monitored is associated with potentially hazardous outcomes and, therefore, deserves distinct attention. By assessing these behaviors, AlertGuard can raise alarms and intervene when necessary.
