Aaron Turner, a 6th-grade student from Delhi Public School Bhopal, India, has created a project called AMVR (Automatic Medicine Vending Robot) which solves the issue of timely and accurate delivery of medicines in hospitals and old age homes. He used Lego EV3 Mind storm kit to build the robot, which uses face detection, a conveyor belt, and PictoBlox’s text to speech extension for implementation. When a patient needs to take the medicines, he/she has to show his/her face in front of the camera, the robot will scan the face and will accordingly dispense the medicines. The robot is capable to store and recognize multiple faces, thus ensuring available inventory of medicines for multiple patients. Aaron also plans to implement and integrate this system in all elderly homes. This project demonstrates the thought of innovation in the field of health infrastructure.
