Solar energy is a great alternative to traditional fuel sources, however, the implementation of this renewable option is often lacking. To address this issue, Prit Dilip Vataliya from India created the SolarFloat project, an innovative Floating Solar Tracker system. SolarFloat uses a Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit, a large motor for panel movement, a color sensor to track the sun, and an energy meter to store and utilize the generated energy.
This project is designed to bring sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to rural areas, like powering LED street lights in small village farms. SolarFloat is easy to use, floating on bodies of water such as ponds, rivers, and lakes without occupying space on land. The device takes advantage of the sun’s movement to maximize energy generation and reduces evaporation by covering and cooling the water bodies.
When discussing the issue of environmental impact, SolarFloat offers an elegant solution. By utilizing solar energy, it helps reduce pollution, global warming, and emissions of greenhouse gases. SolarFloat is an excellent example of the potential of renewable energy and the impact it can have on our planet.
