Connect Quarky Intellio to PictoBlox using the most suitable method for your setup. This guide outlines all available Wi-Fi connection options and helps you select the best one for your environment to begin coding.
Prerequisite
Step 1. Install PictoBlox
- Download and install PictoBlox version 9.1.0 or later.
- You can also start coding instantly at pictoblox.ai using a supported web browser.
Step 2. Access the Wi-Fi Setup Menu
- Open PictoBlox and select Block Coding or Python.

- Go to Board → Select Quarky Intellio


- Click on Connect.

- Open the Wi-Fi tab for choosing any connection method.

Step 3. Power On Intellio
- Slide the Power Switch to ON.
- The Power LED will turn Rainbow Light to Blue.

Note: If the Low Battery LED is Red, charge via USB-C.

Quarky Intellio Connection Methods in PictoBlox
Quarky Intellio offers Wi-Fi connection methods. Choose the one that best suits your setup and environment.
1) Via Wi-Fi Router
This method connects Quarky Intellio to PictoBlox through a Wi-Fi router. Both the device and your computer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can easily program and control the Quarky Intellio using PictoBlox over the network. This is a stable option if you’re working in an environment with an existing Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Note: Quarky Intellio supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. It will not connect to 5 GHz or 6 GHz networks.
Step 1: Turn On Bluetooth and Wi-Fi of your Computer.
- Turn ON Wi-Fi and connect to a 2.4 GHz network.
- Turn ON Bluetooth (required for sharing Wi-Fi Credentials with PictoBlox.)

Step 2: Select Via Wi-Fi Router.

Step 3: Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi SSID and Password and Click on Next.

Note:
- Use the same network which your computer is connected.
- Be sure to tick “Remember Me” so you don’t have to re-enter your details next time.
Step 4: Sharing Credentials to PictoBlox.
- PictoBlox will automatically use Bluetooth to complete the connection. Alternatively, you can use a Serial Port (USB) connection to share your Wi-Fi credentials with the PictoBlox.

- From the device list, select your Intellio (e.g., Intellio 7c42).
- Click on Connect button.

Step 5: Connection Successful.
- Once you see “Connected Wi—Fi and IP Address” click on Go to Editor.

Note: PictoBlox uses Bluetooth or USB to securely send Wi-Fi credentials.
2) Device as a Mobile Hotspot
This method allows you to use your device’s mobile data connection to create a Wi-Fi hotspot. The setup involves enabling the hotspot feature on your device and connecting Quarky Intellio to the Wi-Fi network it creates.
Step 1: Select Device as a Mobile Hotspot.

Step 2: Enable 2.4 GHz Mobile Hotspot on your device.
- Click on the Open button to open the Mobile hotspot option on your device.

- Enable 2.4 GHz Mobile Hotspot on your device and note the Hotspot Name (SSID) and Password.

Note :
- Quarky Intellio supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Make sure your hotspot stays ON throughout the entire connection process.
Step 3: Enter Hotspot Credentials in PictoBlox.
- Enter Hotspot Name (SSID) and Password details in connection Wi-Fi tab and click on Next Button.

- PictoBlox will now prepare to securely send these hotspot credentials to Quarky Intellio.
Step 4: Select your Intellio device.
- Select your Intellio device and click Connect Button.
- You can also use a Bluetooth or Serial Port (USB) connection to share your Wi-Fi credentials with the PictoBlox.

- Fetching your IP address.

Step 5: Connection Successful.
- Intellio connects to your hotspot.
- Click on Go to Editor.

3) Intellio as a Hotspot
In this method, Quarky Intellio itself acts as a mobile hotspot. The Intellio creates its own Wi-Fi network, which you can connect to with your computer.
Note: Internet access will not be available in this method.
Step 1: Select Intellio as a Hotspot.

Step 2: Click Auto Generate to create Hotspot name and Password.

Step 3: PictoBlox will automatically generate unique Hotspot Name and Password save it for later, Click Next to continue.

Step 4: Select your Intellio device and click on Connect.

Step 5: Connect to Intellio’s Hotspot.
- Open your computer’s Wi-Fi settings.

- Connect to the same hotspot which we created at step 2 (e.g., Intellio718).
- Return to PictoBlox and click Next.

Step 6: Connection Successful.
- Click Go to Editor to start coding and exploring with Intellio.

4) Using IP Address of Intellio
Best for reconnecting quickly when Intellio is already connected to a Wi-Fi network.
This method allows you to connect directly to Quarky Intellio using its IP address without re-entering Wi-Fi credentials.
Step 1: Get Intellio’s IP Address
First, connect Quarky Intellio using any one of the Wi-Fi methods:
- Via Wi-Fi Router
- Device as a Mobile Hotspot
- Intellio as a Hotspot
Once the connection is successful:
Note down or copy the IP address shown on the success screen
(Example: 192.168.4.1)

Step 2: Restart Intellio for IP-based Reconnection
- Click on Disconnect Button.

- Turn OFF and ON Quarky Intellio using the Power Switch.

- To reconnect Intellio to the previously used Wi-Fi network, press and hold the Left (L) Button.

This step is required before using the IP Address method.
Step 3: Select “Using IP Address of Intellio”

Step 4: Paste the IP Address
- Paste the copied IP address using the Paste button.

- Click on Connect.

Step 5: Connection Successful
- Intellio will connect using the entered IP address.

- Once connected, click Go to Editor to start coding.
